A festival brings memories, special moments. It lets you pause and give you something to celebrate. This past weekend, we celebrated two things: Sankranthi and MLK Jr Day. I made this delicious hearty turmeric, rice and lentil dish called Pongal. It was a good weekend.
Don't you love it when it all but takes 5 minutes from start to finish to serve a delicious appy? Essentially everyone loves shishito peppers. They are packed with flavor, which totally elevates when charred in the right manner. They are very low maintenance as they don't need much seasoning either.
Hidden Veggie: Kale
Can you imagine the magic that happens when you combine three fresh herbs, the intense yet subtle cumin and some greens - it makes the chicken dance ;) Well, not literally. This marinade will keep you wanting for more especially when grilled on medium heat so it doesn't burn off all the herbs and greens.
What is North Indian, you ask? Well, India is super diverse when it comes to food, languages and culture. This one is popular in the eastern part of India, and where I grew up. The smell of mustard is always in the air and stir fries are a staple. The combination of mustard oil and whole mustard perforates your senses leaving you wanting more!
